New Digital Entry Rules
ETIAS (For Visa-Exempt Travelers): If you hold a passport from the USA, Canada, UK, or Australia, you will now need an ETIAS travel authorization to enter Spain. It’s an online application that costs approximately €7 (waived for those under 18 or over 70) and is valid for 3 years.
EES (Entry/Exit System): Manual passport stamps are being replaced by the EES. Upon your first arrival at major airports like Madrid-Barajas or Barcelona-El Prat, you will register your fingerprints and a facial scan at a digital kiosk.
The 90/180 Rule: Tourism stays are limited to 90 days within any 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area.
Disclaimer: > The Expat Tours provides travel experiences and is not a visa agency. We cannot guarantee entry. It is the traveler’s responsibility to check current requirements on the official Spanish Consulate website before departure.
Whether you’re wandering the Alhambra or enjoying a tapas crawl in Madrid, travel insurance is your safety net for the unexpected.
Through Our Trusted Partners: We offer optional, comprehensive travel insurance through our vetted partners. These plans are optimized for Italian travel, covering everything from high-speed train delays to medical emergencies.
Your Own Provider: You are welcome to use any trusted service . If you require a Schengen Visa, your policy must have a minimum medical coverage of €30,000.
